Electromagnetic Spinning Viscometer (EMS-1000S)

The EMS viscometer employs a new viscosity measurement principle. The sample is placed into a sample container, a sphere is inserted into the container, and then the container is placed into the EMS viscometer.
The measurement by the electromagnetic spinning sphere viscometer involves observing the viscosity of a liquid through the rotation of a sphere driven by electromagnetic interaction. Two magnets are attached to the rotor to create a rotating magnetic field. The sample is placed in a measurement tube, which contains a sphere. The tube is housed in a temperature-controlled chamber, with the sphere positioned at the center between the two magnets. The rotating magnetic field induces eddy currents in the sphere. The resulting Lorentz force generates torque between the magnetic field and the eddy currents, causing the sphere to rotate. The rotational speed of the sphere depends on the rotational speed and strength of the magnetic field, as well as the viscosity of the sample surrounding the sphere. The motion of the sphere is monitored by a video camera.
